Vegan Chai
I never thought that it'd be possible to enjoy a good warming chai at home, but finally. Enjoy x
Vegan Chai
Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 2 cups of sesame milk or coconut milk
- 2 star-anise
- 2-3 cardamom pods
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tbsp shredded ginger
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 tsp loose tea leaves
- Sweetener of choice: coconut sugar, barley malt, maple syrup, date syrup etc
Steps
- Bring to a boil one cup of water with all the spices, sweetener, and tea then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes
- Add one tbsp of water and lower the heat even more
- Add your choice or milk until heated but NOT boiled
- Strain and enjoy warm or cold!
- Tastes delicious when iced too
