Vegan Chai

I never thought that it'd be possible to enjoy a good warming chai at home, but finally. Enjoy x 


Vegan Chai


  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 cups of sesame milk or coconut milk 
  • 2 star-anise 
  • 2-3 cardamom pods
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp shredded ginger
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 tsp loose tea leaves
  • Sweetener of choice: coconut sugar, barley malt, maple syrup, date syrup etc


  1. Bring to a boil one cup of water with all the spices, sweetener, and tea then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes
  2. Add one tbsp of water and lower the heat even more
  3. Add your choice or milk until heated but NOT boiled
  4. Strain and enjoy warm or cold!
  5. Tastes delicious when iced too
