Juicy Portabello Burger

Oh my oh, my. This burger. The burger patty is only a mushroom cap, but it's SO good!! Flavorful, juicy, and a mouthful of goodness that hugs your heart.

Juicy Portabello Burger

Ingredients

  • 2 portabello mushrooms
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp pomegranate molasses or balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dill
  • sea salt to taste 
  • black pepper to taste
  • pinch of ginger
  • Chili pepper flakes

Steps

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat
  2. Clean the mushrooms and cut off the stem if it's too big
  3. Mix in the ingredients for the sauce 
  4. Place the mushroom (soft side down) and let it cook for 2 minutes
  5. Meanwhile, spread the sauce on the inside of the mushroom
  6. Flip and cook covered for 5 minutes or until soft and juicy
  7. Serve with lettuce, avocado, dijon mustard, and anything else you fancy

*Before topping your bread with the mushroom with lettuce so it doesn't get saggy.
