How Do You Think?

UPDATE It's been a while. I'm not going to give you the usual blogger excuse "I was so busy" even though it's somewhat true. I haven't posted in a while because there are so many drafts (23 to be exact) that I didn't finish yet because my mind is all over the place. It's like I can't focus on one thing these days. I even noticed that I feel fearful before meditating and staying put for a few minutes has become challenging. My mind is all over the place. Should I just let it roam around until it quiet down by itself or should I find a solution. I don't know, but going offline for a day or two sounds appealing right now.

THOUGHTS

We often hear people ask "what are you thinking about" and almost never hear a decent answer. It's hard to answer that question. We are constantly thinking and when we're caught off guard and asked that question we find ourselves not able to pin down what was going through our minds.

I don't like to ask that question. It's too personal and I don't feel comfortable asking personal questions. Besides, I'm not going to get a good answer; it's usually encountered with an awkward "hah".

What you're thinking isn't that interesting anyways. It's momentary. The question I'm interested in is how do you think? Do you think as if you're talking to someone or telling them a story? In a dialog with yourself? Simply talking to yourself? I personally think as if I'm writing. It partially has to do with the fact that I've been doing a lot of writing these days, but I've always been mostly thinking this way. Sometimes I think in a way as if I was writing it down in a private notebook, or "journal" but I don't like to call it that, because to me it's not a journal. It doesn't contain everything. Only what I feel important to remember or necessary to let out. Also, at a certain time in my life, when twitter first came out, I got so obsessed with tweeting that I started to think in terms of 140 characters. That's when you know you're obsessed with something.

So how do you think?
