Eco-Friendly Yoga Equipment

As I'm attempting to go zero-waste, I've become more conscious of everything that I purchase. From my food, cleaning products, clothes, and yoga mat.

Unfortunately, most yoga mats are made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride), sometimes referred to as vinyl. What is that? Well, it's one of the most toxic plastics out there. Yikes.

Therefore, I did my research and looked for yoga mats that are made out of natural and non-toxic material as well as yoga/fitness apparel. Then I figured I'd share it with you guys and try to get you as many discount codes as possible.

1. Jade Yoga

They plant a tree for every mat you purchase! AAAHHHHH that makes me so happy.

I love what they stand for and they have the best yoga mats in my opinion. I've tried a lot of mats, and in my opinion, they're the best. Lightweight, non-slip, and durable. It smells funky at first since it's made of natural rubber but then the smell fades away.

2. Manduka

I believe all of their products are vegan. They have an eko line which is made out of ethically sourced cotton.

Their eko yoga mats are my favorite. They're "Made from biodegradable, non-Amazon harvested, natural tree rubber with non-toxic foaming agents and non-AZO dyes." I'm in love.

I also highly recommend their blocks! They're sturdy and reliable.

This is my all time favorite block. I love using blocks to deepen my practice and help me keep my entire body active. For example, if I'm working on a pose that focuses on the upper body, I'll place the block between my thighs to keep them active as well, as I tend to forget about the legs when |I'm working on the upper body. Also, my favorite way to strengthen the arms before practicing inversions such as Pincha Mayurasana, I place the block between my palms and press on it without using my fingers and while keeping my elbows straight. A great way to strengthen your arms.

There are many ways to use the block, and I like this one in particular because it's on the heavier side, it's thick and non slippry so I don't have to worry about it slipping when I place it on my mat.
